Lately, we’ve been drawn to warm, nude colours… or more specifically makeup palettes. Maybe it’s because where we live, September had been one of the most hot and humid months we’ve ever experienced.

Nevertheless, we made the most out of this sticky situation and selected a few palettes that we felt were too pretty not to share:

1. Too Faced Natural Eyes (Neutral Eye Shadow Collection) – This is a must-have everyday palette. Great for beginners, it comes with a little card with step-by-step instructions on how to create three different looks. It’s so versatile and can easily make your eyeshadow game dramatic or natural. The only downside is the matte shadows are a little more pigmented than the shimmery ones. Then again, we do prefer subtlety when it comes to our eye makeup! This compact palette is palm-sized and therefore travel-friendly – perfect for when you need your eyes to look bright and fresh in the event of jetlag.

2. Morphe Brushes 35O Matte Palette – Morphe calls this the “35-colour matte natureglow eyeshadow palette”, and it has autumn written all over it. Highly pigmented and affordable to boot, we are certain you won’t need other palettes once you get a hold of this. It’s a pity that perhaps it’s a little too big to lug around when travelling. Tip: Check out the 35T if you need more pink and purple hues in your glam kit.

3. Tarteist Contour Palette – we must admit, this one was an impulsive buy. We had high hopes that after watching tons of tutorials, we must have enough skills to contour in our sleep. While we are far from Huda Kattan levels when it comes to contouring, this palette definitely made the task so easy that it was almost idiot-proof. Its warm tones and super blendable shades are a dream to use.. very helpful when you need a little depth and a hint of pink on your cheeks. It’s an all-in-one kit with an amazing formula, which we feel if used with the right primer and base, would be long-lasting in any weather.

Where to buy:  you can head over Sephora to purchase the Tarte and Too Faced palettes. The 35O can be purchased directly from Morphe.

  1. […] This is not a must-have but you’ll be glad if one of these petite things are inside your travel make-up bag if you’re suddenly invited to a formal event or you’re going on a date with a handsome stranger. If you want to get an eyeshadow palette on-the-go, shop for the ones that have neutral, matte or slightly shimmery colours with light and sheer colours to make that eye colour pop. One tip: We also use these light colours as highlighters on our cheeks if we do not have a separate product just for highlighting! We recommend using MAC’s customisable eyeshadow palettes and TooFaced Natural Eye palette that we reviewed HERE. […]
